Our medium grain rice is white rice kernels about 6 millimeters long and somewhat wider than long-grain varieties; cooks up soft. The River® Enriched White Rice and Water Maid® Enriched White Rice are both first quality, medium grain rice products.

River® rice is available in a 2 lb. poly bag. It's easy to prepare, economical, versatile, and a healthy complement to any meal.  River® rice is grown in the U.S.A. and is Kosher approved. Families can trust River® to cook into fluffy white rice. River® is naturally sodium free, cholesterol free, and fat free.

Cooking Directions - On the Stove

In a saucepan, bring 2 cups water to boil.  If desired, add tub margarine and salt.  Stir in 1 cup of rice.  Cover.  Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until all water is absorbed.  Makes about 3 cups cooked rice.

Cooking Directions - In the Microwave

In a 2 quart microwave-safe dish combine 2 cups water and 1 cup rice.  If desired, add tub margarine and salt.  Cover and microwave on HIGH for 5 minutes.  Reduce setting to 50% power, microwave for 15 minutes.  Let stand for 5 minutes.  NOTE:  It is recommended that only 1 cup rice be prepared in the microwave at a time.  Microwave ovens vary.  Cooking times are approximate.

Cooking Directions and Other Serving Suggestions

For drier rice, use ¼ cup less water. For moister rice, use ¼ cup more water.
